Employability refers to the knowledge, skills and abilities an individual possesses, and the way they present those assets to employers.
In ESN, we work on contributing to the field of skills and employability in a few ways. While volunteering in ESN, our volunteers work on a variety of topics across several fields and develop a diverse set of skills. Therefore, we train our volunteers in both hard and soft skills, equipping them with necessary knowledge and competences to successfully fulfill tasks that their position entails, coordinate other volunteers and lead their local and national organisations. Upon providing training opportunities, we also provide space and opportunities to try their newly acquired knowledge and competences on practical examples, making sure that they stay with them for life.
The cause is also reflected on the various events organised on the local and national level, emphasising the power and connection of volunteering to personal and professional development of young people, taking into perspective volunteering on exchange, as well as in one's own community.
ACTIVITIES
Our aim to pursue the Skills&Employability Cause is to learn and teach the basic interpretative tools for understanding the work system in Italy. We organize the "ESN Schools", training days to educate ESNers on our network and to develope soft skills. We also organize lectures for both ESNers and international students to gain a better understanding of the different working status and related complain procedures, improve on financial self-support yourself during the course of university.
