A different look on climbing
Hey there folks!
Has it ever occurred to you that you were in a club and wanted to go up on the cube to show off your dancing skills but you couldn’t do it (maybe you should have left it at 3 negronis) and so you thought “Oh man, IF ONLY I KNEW HOW TO CLIMB!”
Never!?
OF COURSE NOT, THAT’D BE WEIRD.
Nonetheless, we thought it would be fun to make you try this new awesome sport.
Since we know you’re tough guys, we decided that in order to spice things up it could be also fun to make you climb BLINDED.
WHY ON EARTH WOULD I DO THAT? Among other reasons:
The real question is not “why?”, but rather “why not?”.
I am in my 20s and still scared of the boogie man, maybe it’s time to overcome my fears.
IN THE CONTEXT OF THE SOCIALERASMUS AND EXCHANGEABILITY PROJECTS, I will be able to experience how blind people climb and I might experience a new consciousness of my body. (we encourage diversity and different point of view but this is the reason strongly recommended by ESN).
IS IT SUITABLE FOR ME?
Previous climbing skills/experience ARE NOT required in order to participate to the event: this is something SUITABLE FOR EVERYONE OF ANY LEVEL. The whole experience will be happening UNDER THE SUPERVISION AND THE GUIDANCE OF QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS.
HOW AM I SECURED?
You will be tied all the time to a rope attached to the top of the wall and always kept in tension so that if you slip you will just be hanging up and will not fall.
HOW IS THE EVENT STRUCTURED?
BASIC SAFETY RULES: we will first learn the basic safety rules for climbing (theory and practice).
BEGINNERS WALL: we will start climbing some of the routes for beginners (this part without being blindfolded yet) putting in practice what we’ve learnt in step 1.
BLIND CLIMBING: for those of you who want, there’s the possibility to try a peculiar exercise: you will be blindfolded and you will climb the same walls you have tried before under normal conditions.
WHEN: 23rd of April, from 15.00 to 17.30. Meeting point in molino dorino (MM1) at 14.30.
WHERE: Rockspot Nordoverst, Pero, MM1 Molino Dorino
HOW MUCH: 10€ per person for a 2h 30m session
