Dal 12 al 15 ottobre si terrà a Milano la South-Western European Platform (SWEP) dell’associazione Erasmus Student Network, la più grande organizzazione studentesca internazionale supportata dalla Commissione Europea.
Il programma si aprirà giovedì 12 ottobre, nel primo pomeriggio, con la Conferenza di Apertura che si terrà presso l’Aula Sant’Agostino dell’Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano.
Tale conferenza, dal titolo “60 years of Rome Treaties and 30 years of Erasmus: Let’s celebrate, analyze and look towards the future of the European Union” è aperta al pubblico e vedrà la partecipazione di importanti rappresentanti istituzionali:

Anna Scavuzzo, Vice Sindaco di Milano
Tijana Stojanović, Vice Presidente di Erasmus Student Network
Cercheremo di analizzare il percorso di integrazione comunitaria, che storicamente si considera sia iniziato il 25 marzo 1957, e le sue evoluzioni fino ad una analisi della situazione attuale, in cui l’Unione Europea sembra in crisi da un punto di vista istituzionale e politico, per poi provare ad immaginare gli scenari futuri.
Un particolare focus sarà dedicato al programma Erasmus, di cui quest’anno si celebra il trentesimo anniversario e che rimane a detta di molti il programma di maggior successo dell’Unione Europea. Tuttavia anche l’Erasmus è cambiato molto nel corso degli anni e tuttora si discute su come migliorarlo.
Sono invitati alla Conferenza tutti gli interessati e appassionati di questi temi, che saranno affrontati da vari punti di vista ed esperienze. Essendo presenti i delegati stranieri della SWEP Milano 2017, si informa che la Conferenza sarà tenuta in lingua inglese.
La Conferenza sarà poi seguita da un appuntamento molto più informale: per celebrare i 30 anni dell’Erasmus e l’accoglienza internazionale della città di Milano, si terrà una colorata e gioiosa parata internazionale, a cui sono invitati le migliaia di giovani stranieri che ogni anno studiano e lavorano nel capoluogo. Il corteo sfilerà dall’Università Cattolica, passando vicino al Castello Sforzesco, fino a raggiungere Piazza Duomo, in un insieme di bandiere, colori e canti, che rappresenteranno tutto l’entusiasmo della cosiddetta “Generazione Erasmus”.

From 12th to 15th October, Milan will host the South-Western European Platform (SWEP) of the Erasmus Student Network, the biggest international student association, officially recognized and supported by the European Commission.
The program will start on 12th October, in the early afternoon, with the Opening Conference that will take place in Sant’Agostino room of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano. The conference, “60 years of Rome Treaties and 30 years of Erasmus: Let’s celebrate, analyze and look towards the future of the European Union” is open to the public. We will try to analyze the communitarian integration process, which started on 25th March 1957, and its evolution till today, a moment during which the European Union appears to be experiencing an institutional and political crisis. Than, we will try to predict what will happen in the future.
A special focus will be on the Erasmus program, which turns 30 years old this year and that is considered arguably the best program of the European Union. Nevertheless, even the Erasmus program has changed a lot during the years and many discussions on how to improve it still take place.
Everyone interested on this topics is invited to the Conference, that will be in English since all the international delegates of SWEP Milano 2017 will be present.
A more informal event will follow the Conference: to celebrate the 30 years of Erasmus and Milan’s international soul, an international flag parade with all the international students living in Milan will start right after the Conference. The parade, with its flags, colors, musics and chants, will start in front of the Università Cattolica and will pass by the Castello Sforzesco, on its way to Piazza Duomo. All the characteristics and enthusiasm of the so-called “Erasmus Generation” will be shown during this unique event!
